Bangsamoro advocates, BOL experts, and Bangsamoro officials were one in calling for the immediate formation of the IGR during a forum on Tuesday, October 1, organized by the Institute for Autonomy and Governance.

The issue of intergovernmental relations takes center stage Tuesday in Manila as a wide spectrum of political leaders, policymakers, government agencies and civil society gathers to discuss how best to operationalize with the newly-established Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) one of the major features of its organic act.

There are two significant events that prompted the conduct of the study. 

Engage from a principles-based position, focus on building strong political institutions. This was the message of IAG Executive Director Benedicto Bacani at the opening of “Usapang IP sa Bangsamoro” last Friday, August 30, in Cotabato City.

A vast majority of traditional Muslim schools in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and adjacent regions struggle with limited resources for their operations and aspire for government recognition to get support.
