COTABATO CITY — Governor Mujiv Hataman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao yesterday assured the Bangsamoro people that the region will remain intact, reformed and functioning ahead of the transition to the new Bangsamoro government later this year.

Speaking to ARMM employees, Hataman said the region was facing major challenges as it prepares to hand over the reign to the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) that will oversee the transition of power and functions from ARMM to the new Bangsamoro political entity.

Hataman allayed fears of another “failed experiment” in the Bangsamoro government, saying it will finally solve the decades old “Bangsamoro Question.”

As the days for the entry of new political entity nears, Hataman said reforms will continue and it will start right away.

He disclosed the launch of a new campaign that was aimed at making ARMM heads of offices always on their toes.

Hataman said “Oplan Gisa” will be waged wherein department and bureau chiefs will be put under scrutiny on how they performed in the past year and what they can still do this year to improve government services.

Hataman said he wanted to leave a legacy in the region by doing what his predecessors failed or have not done as regional governor.

His reform agenda netted at least P1 billion savings in the past two years that he led ARMM.

In his last state of the region address in November, Hataman outlined what he intended to do in the remaining months before the new government assumes.
