As the resumption of the peace talks looms ahead, we are still uncertain as to whether we can iron out whatever is left of the unresolved issues in the Annexes to the FAB. Once this is done, however, the Comprehensive Compact takes form. 


But the work does not end there. Another formidable challenge is before us. And that formidable challenge is the big question as to whether or not the Filipino government and the Filipino people want to seriously put an end to the sovereignty-based conflict in Mindanao and Sulu. This conflict, as we’ve repeatedly said before, can only be settled through the institution of justice by way of rectifying the historical wrongs and the current conditions that they’ve spawned over time.
